My thoughts so far on the anime and my likes and dislikes.

It hasn't been that long since I started watching One Piece around late July or early August. As I started to like it heaps, I've watched like a lot of episodes, between 6 to 12 a day to be very honest, though I've had a few breaks with TAFE, watching a new anime called Toriko, reading some manga, planning and making videos. Now that I've watched the whole 516 episodes and now up to date with the upcoming episode 517, I've been thinking about writing up what I thought about the series and my likes and dislikes on it. So now, onto the topic.

My Likes:
  • Amazing storyline and setting
  • There's a lot of character development as the story continues on. (e.g. who they are, what they do, why, etc)
  • Nicely drawn characters, especially their sense of clothing and appearance
  • A lot of personality behind the characters, and a lot of humour from a lot of characters and their own unique and hilarious laughs, especially the bad guys.
  • A lot of powerful characters, especially Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and the rest of the Strawhats.
  • Great music openings and endings
  • Most of the scenes in the anime are bloody hilarious that make you want to laugh even before they happen, and the fight scenes are well done, enjoyable to watch, and it gives you the feel of a Dragon Ball Z like fight. Speaking of DBZ, Luffy is partially based on Son Goku.
My Dislikes:
  • Some of the characters are weird looking. (though that's not a big issue.)
  • There are filler episodes that waste time and prevent you from getting into the main plot and issue of the storyline, although most of them are enjoyable to watch.
  • As of from 279 to 518, there hasn't been any ending songs.
  • Because of the huge amount of episodes, watching the series is time consuming.
Conclusion

There are a lot of anime series that are very awesome, but One Piece may be one of the best ever. I really can't think of anymore words to describe and think of one Piece. You just have to watch it see for yourself! Amazing storyline, awesome design and drawings, amazing humour, awesome scenes, very adventurous as expected of being a pirate travelling around the world and a huge roster of amazing characters with awesome personality. And I had to say the words "amazing" and "awesome" like 3 times to describe One Piece.

If you are a big fan of anime such as Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, and more, do check out One Piece and trust me, your mind will be blown away =)

On my B'day and the aftermath =)

Last Sunday and last Monday were two good days. This was when on Sunday, I went over to my cousin's house up in Sydney with my dad, and was able to get every episode of One Piece up-to-date and other anime onto my external hard drive as well. Then at Monday midnight was when I got a lot of Happy B'day comments from a lot of friends, and then in the daytime, I went into the City to shop around before I went back home. While I was there, I was looking for some One Piece figurines and merchandise to buy, though I already knew what I was going to buy. I didn't go around a lot to search for anime stores, but I bought some figurines, similar to the mafia one I bought from before at the same store, Fever. Only this time, I not only bought Zoro, but Nami and Robin as well for a total of $20 bucks.

This is the recent photo that I have taken, only this time, I've got 5 now, and watching an episode as well lol So the characters in order are from left to right (though you may know by the appearance): Zoro, Robin, Luffy, Nami and Sanji.

When I got back home, I was very happy that I was able to get two things: Every One Piece episode up-to-date, and a few more OP mafia figurines as decorations. I just need Usopp and Chopper to finsh the collection, but that can wait, as long as they're still sold at the same store. The recent photos will be taken and uploaded soon. Also, I've been watching a lot of episodes recently, and have got around up to 334 or 335, and I must say that I'm loving the series so far. Heck, I like it better and more enjoyable than Naruto.

The story is great as I mentioned earlier, and also, to quote my cousin, One Piece is better, because there's always gonna be more new characters depending on how the story continues, no matter how far you get up in the manga, or the anime, and also the world in One Piece is very big with many different places. Naruto on the other hand is always with the same old characters, same place, different plots, in fact, a lot a filler arcs that are boring compared to the fillers within One Piece that can be time wasting, but very enjoyable and fun to watch.

Characterwise, I like One Piece better, because they can be funny, even in the serious moments. Luffy, for instance, can be a complete idiot, but he's always positive and humorous no matter what the situation is. Other characters like Zoro, Sanji and more are very impressive in their own way of doing things. I say "in their own way", because it's not about who they are, but what the characters do defines who they are (Batman Begins reference), and in my opinion, that's what One Piece has.

That's all for today and more thoughts will be coming soon. Stay tuned =)

My new One Piece figurines as decorations =)

Ever since I started watching and liking One Piece, I was thinking about buying some One Piece  figurines as decorations. This is where I was looking up on the net to search for some anime shops that are located within Sydney. Yesterday, I went up to the City with a couple of friends to shop around, however, since we're mostly shopping in Paddy's Market at Market City in Haymarket, It saved me the trouble of wasting time and exploring the other anime stores, since Paddy's market was filled with more than one anime section.

We did a lot of shopping over there and we walked like everywhere within Paddy's Market. I got a little figurine of Luffy for like three dollars. And then when me and the others finished shopping inside, we went inside Market City, which is the shopping centre above Paddy's Market, for a little walk around. This is where I was searching for other anime stores.

Game Infinity is a good store with good figurines, but it's not a good place to go if you're gonna waste like between fifty to ninety bucks or more. Right before we're about to leave the shopping centre, there was a store with anime figurines, which was called Fever, a shop that sells Asian DVD's and movies. Now this was where I bought another 2 figurines. One was Luffy and another was Sanji in their mafia-style outfits. They were eight dollars each, but two for fifteen wasn't bad. I could've bought Zoro as well to make the Monster Trio. Three figurines for twenty dollars wasn't a bad price, but I was like "two would be okay". Looking back now, I wish I did buy Zoro as well, but it's okay. As long as it is still sold, I can buy it the next time I visit the store.

These are the two mafia figurines of Luffy and Sanji that I bought in Fever.

These are the three figurines that I bought from yesterday up in Sydney (and a One Piece wallpaper on my laptop lol)

Anyways, that's all I can share for today, and that trip was a hell of a lot of fun, and it is very great to have the toys on my laptop as decorations. Also I wanted to ask you guys, I did mention earlier that I was looking for anime shops that are located in Sydney. If you guys know which good ones to go to where, what kind do they sell (manga, figurines, etc.), just post me a comment and tell me which one and I'll take it into consideration. Thank you very much, my nakama. =)

Introduction to my One Piece blog!

Hi everyone, and welcome to my One Piece blogger. Here I will be posting my random thoughts and favourite things in regards to the series. I'll be really honest with you guys, what got me into the series is that I heard that there are a lot of powerful, and also hilarious characters in One Piece and I've been hearing great things about the manga and the anime. So, I had to see if it's true and downloaded the anime and watched the whole thing from the start. I wasn't into watching the anime at first, but once I watched the first episode, in Japanese with subtitles, I thought in my head "This anime is AWESOME!", and it blew my mind as well.

I think that One Piece is a great series and a great anime you don't want to avoid watching. The story is great, the designs and drawings are great, the animation is amazing, the characters are awesome as well, both in personality and humor. Speaking of humor, there are a lot of funny scenes that made me laugh even in the most serious scenes. What can you expect from One Piece, and not to mention the main protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy. Man is this guy hilarious and positive, no matter what. You gotta love the lover cook, Sanji as well with his quotes: "NAMI-SWAAAAAAAAN!!! ROBIN-CHWAAAAAAAN!!!"

You can forget watching Naruto and Bleach, but not One Piece. No, don't, I am kidding LOL XD

To conclude the introduction, check out One Piece if you're a big fan of it or an anime fan, read the manga if you want to see everything, though the anime is missing some scenes in the manga, it's worth the watch, since you see colours (get the black and white manga reference? lol) to make the audience feel more positive and get some laughs. Read the manga, or watch the anime, your decision, and trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Feel free to check out my blog of One Piece when you have the time. Thanks guys. =)
